Following the NSW Government’s refusal of another firm’s master plan, Roberts Day was approached to develop a vision for an authentic south coast village that could capture the imagination of decision makers.
By holding a series of workshops and strategic meetings that focused on site responsiveness and community building, Roberts Day was able to secure the support of key government officers. The process facilitated the resolution of several issues, including those surrounding significant wetlands, prior to lodging a new Part 3A application. Further, by demonstrating the attributes which would create a real coastal village, the client was able to proactively work with the NSW Department of Planning to determine densities that would result in a marketable end product.
The strength of both the master plan and the collaborative process meant the Department of Planning was able to issue approval within six months of lodgment.
